02/10/1381 | Stagsden,Bedfordshire | Sampson was indicted before the justices of the peace in Bedfordshire that on 2 October 1381 at Stagsden he feloniously received two oxen and thirty sheep worth six and a half marks which Henry together with Richard Spier of Wootton had stolen at Wootton on 13 April 1379. Brought before the justices, Henry produced a pardon dated 3 March [sic.] 1382 together with a writ dated 20 September 1382 stating that Henry had provided sureties for his good behaviour. Henry found to be of good reputation and was threefore released from gaol and allowed to go sine die in respect of the felony and receiving. | TNA, JUST 3/164, m. 6 |
