1379 to 1380 Stephen Hales, sheriff of Norfolk, fined 100s. for the escape of John Michel of Mundford, arrested for felony, and committed to the custody of Hales and who escaped from him, as appears by Hales's own admission. The money from this fine was assigned to John Peek keeper of the rolls for the transport of the rolls and other memoranda of the court from Thetford to Westminster, so does not appear in the issues.
