John Halyngbury burns documents of the Prior of St John of Jerusalem

The prior by his attorney appears against John Halyngbury of Wandsworth in the county of Surrey concerning a plea whereby, by force and arms, he broke into the close and houses of the same prior at Highbury and Clerkenwell, and burnt his charters, deeds, rolls of courts and other muniments found there, and took and carried away his goods and chattels to the value of £40 found there, and inflicted other outrages on him, to the serious damage of the same prior and against the peace of the king.
