Details | Cambridge. John Giboun of Cambridge, junior, was arrested on suspicion of being a notorious rebel and wrongdoer in town and country at the time of the disturbance and rumour. And afterwards by various inquisitions in a legitimate fashion it was found that the same John, along with other wrongdoers assembled with him, on Sunday 16th June 1381 during parish mass, entered the parish church of St. Mary, Cambridge, and feloniously broke a chest full of jewels and utensils, and took 10 s. from John Giboun senior for letting that chest alone, to the prejudice of the king, and disturbance of the priest celebrating mass, and the parishioners in the church. |
