Details | the jurors present that John Barbour of Huntingdon, John atte Cros of Shelland (beheaded) and Geoffrey Taillour of Drinkstone, congregators, supporters and maintainers at the time of the rising, from village to village in the hundred of Stowe, in a warlike manner and against the dignity of the crown, came feloniously and fraudulently to the village of Old Newton, namely on Saturday 15th June 1381 and there they feloniously and treacherously broke and entered the close and houses of William Berard at Old Newton with many others unknown and plundered and carried away cows, sheep, wool, corn, malt and other goods and chattels worth £10. |
