Details | William Burre of Brenchley, Roger Cotynge of Brenchley and John Kippyng of Tonbridge junior on 22nd June 1381 rose against the king and his people and feloniously broke into the house of Nicholas Merefeld at Tonbridge and came upon his goods and chattels, that is to say cloth, linens, woollens, brass vessels, wood and valuables, and tore them down, to the damage of 100 s., and trampled upon them in the street, and broke the stocks of the king along with other unknown wrongdoers, and were supporters of the aforesaid insurrection and accomplices of many wrongdoers in the uprising in the manner aforesaid. |
