John Staunford threatens Thomas Cavell and John Topcleve

John Staunford, saddler of London, was a common leader and notorious assembler of malefactors to cast down and burn the houses of his neighbours, and that he threatened Thomas Cavell and John Topcleve and others of the lord king's faithful in the county of Cambridge, so that they did not dare to remain in their own homes. And he said that he had the lord king's commission in a certain box, to destroy the lord king's traitors and to do very many other things, at Melbourn on Saturday 15 June 1381.
