Thomas Shouteman, in the company of other wrongdoers, on Friday 14 June 1381, upon London Bridge within 'les Stulpes' by Southwark, in the ward of the said Bridge, feloniously killed John Bochier, millward, and cut off the head of the same John with a certain sword for 3½d, which the same John owed to the aforesaid Thomas, and not for another cause. After committing the crime, Thomas dragged John's body outside the liberty of the city of London as far as the vill of Southwark, and fled.
