John Northbourne of Kent and John Usscher of Kent were chief malefactors in the time of the insurrection of the people, namely from Wednesday before Corpus Christi [12 June 1381] when they broke the King's gaol [carcerem regis] at Southwark and delivered the robbers and prisoners kept there.
